Minimally Invasive Surgery
Minimally Invasive Surgery (MIS) is also known as ‘keyhole surgery’. This surgery is done through small incisions and the technique enables doctors to operate with less damage to the body compared to open surgery. MIS is also associated with less pain and fewer complications.
Some of the benefits of MIS include less blood loss, smaller surgical scars and a shorter hospital stay. It is important to note that MIS has limitations too. For example, the technique might not be suitable for all patients or it might be costlier compared to traditional surgery.
Concord International Hospital specialises in MIS procedures, including robotic surgery, which allows doctors to perform many types of complex procedures with more precision, flexibility and control than is possible with conventional techniques.
